    This year begins an exciting new partnership as Barclays becomes the Official Banking Partner of Wimbledon uniting two iconic British institutions. The first Barclays bank opened +330 years ago and, as the world’s oldest tennis tournament, Wimbledon was first staged in 1877. With Wimbledon, we’re celebrating the best of tennis and creating new possibilities with tennis ambassador Frances Tiafoe.

    We’re partnering with Wimbledon to create opportunities through sport. To show how possibilities can be created together, we’re showcasing the extraordinary story of Barclays’ tennis ambassador, Frances Tiafoe.

    Highlighting the importance of support and partnerships in his journey and rise, Frances is a player like no other in his era. Frances’ journey started as a young child and son of Sierra Leonean immigrants in Hyattsville, Maryland learning to play tennis at the JTCC in suburban Washington, D.C. Today, he’s a Grand Slam semi-finalist and Top 20 player, who moved to No.10 in June 2023, his high highest ranking to date, with the support of many partners around him.
